3 Types of Professional Cleaning Services

Keep Your Home and Office in Order

More and more personal tasks are being outsourced to professional services, including cleaning. Housekeeping used to be the domain of wives and mothers. That is no longer the case. In fact, anyone can get into housekeeping. Today, there is an entire industry devoted to keeping our homes in order. Essentially, professional cleaning services are companies or people who clean the inside or outside of your home. This can include things like dusting, vacuuming, laundry, etc. In this article, we'll take a look at three types of cleaning services that can help you keep your house, or office, spick and span.

Maid Service

You don't have to be rich to have a maid. While only the wealthy can afford to keep full-time cleaning staff on hand, even the average family can afford some maid service nowadays.

Numerous companies provide maid service on a part-time basis. For example, you can arrange to have a maid come to your house once a week, every other week or once a month, depending on your needs. Many families look after day-to-day cleaning themselves, while hiring a service to perform a thorough house-cleaning once every week or two.

Maid service is the perfect way to enjoy the benefits of a maid without the added expense. Sometimes, it's possible to contract for the same maid to clean your home each time, but if you're using a service, you will likely have to ask for this to be the case.

Office Cleaning

Unlike our homes, our offices are generally not our responsibility to clean. Sure, we need to keep our files in order and be able to find our own stapler, but when it comes to emptying the garbage, washing the windows and other such tasks, we are – thankfully – off the hook.

Generally, companies have an office cleaning staff or contract out to a cleaning service – or some combination of the two. In the case of large, multi-unit buildings, companies occupying space are usually responsible for the interior of their units, while the building owner looks after plumbing, electrical and the building's exterior (roof, windows, landscaping, etc.).

Specialty Cleaning

Whether for home or office, cleaning services tend to be limited to basic, general tasks – dusting, vacuuming, window washing, mopping, etc. But other types of cleaning are also necessary, though perhaps less frequently. Services such as furnace cleaning, air duct cleaning and parking lot or driveway sweeping are specialty services that require special equipment and expertise.

Of course, your home isn't the only thing that requires cleaning. Car detailing and dry cleaners are just two of the specialty cleaning services available for your property and possessions.
